Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate and appreciate the incredible love, strength, and dedication of mothers everywhere. It’s a day for family, for appreciation, and for making special memories. But for many mothers with a child in the hospital, the day looks very different. Instead of breakfast in bed or a day spent surrounded by loved ones, they are by their child’s bedside; comforting, supporting, and putting their child’s needs before their own.
At Cards for Bravery, we know how emotionally and physically exhausting it can be for a parent to have a child in hospital. The long days, the sleepless nights, and the anxiety can take a huge toll.
That’s why this Mother’s Day we have put together 20 gift bags for Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow to be given to mothers who are staying in hospital with their children. Each bag contains a Costa gift card, a soothing hand cream, and some chocolate. Small items of comfort and appreciation to remind them that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

When a child is in hospital, a mother’s focus is entirely on them. Self-care often takes a backseat and Mother’s Day can feel like just another difficult day. We wanted to do something to recognise these incredible mothers. The ones who stay up through the night, who hold hands through tough moments, and who keep going even when they are exhausted. These gift bags are a way of saying, we see you and you are doing an amazing job.
